A workshop in English? Of course!

Im Englischunterricht der Klasse 6a wurde das Thema «Art - Early modern paintings» durchgenommen. Sie haben die verschiedenen Stilrichtungen besprochen und dabei die englischen Begriffe kennengelernt. Im Anschluss besuchte die Klasse das Kunsthaus Aarau und wendeten das Gelernte sogleich an. Der Workshop unter dem Namen «I see!» wurde von Frau Erdmann auf Englisch durchgeführt. Dabei hatten die Schülerinnen und Schüler viele Gelegenheiten, die Fremdsprache zu sprechen und zu hören. Zu drei Bildern verschiedener Stile wurden Rätsel entworfen, in English of course! Die entsprechenden Bilder mussten danach natürlich noch gefunden werden.

Eine kleine Auswahl der Rätsel:

• When detective Cubism helps, he gets another geometrical form. When he cannot help, he loses a piece of his body. He helps people, animals and solves cases. Detective Cubism was walking at night on the streets of New York. Nobody was there. It was dark. He suddenly saw two men…
• I see four men playing snooker. The table has no holes. Two men have beards. One man smokes. The main colour of the painting is black. The painting looks serious. At the time that the painting was made, there was a war.
• There are light colours in this painting from Ferdinand Hodler. The painting makes you feel happy, maybe because there is no black in it. The painting is from an ocean and a beach. If I were in this painting, I would go swimming. I would eat an ice cram and sunbath. I would war a bikini, sunglasses, sunhat and flip-flops. I would be very happy there.
